Joe Bruce

Performing in front of audiences since age 12, Joe Bruce is an extremely talented and versatile ventriloquist, storyteller, and performer. He has a unique ability to engage children, teens, and adults with his exceptional blend of drawing, original stories, ventriloquism, ballooning, and storytelling. You will be amazed at the variety that is packed into this presentation. His positive message will be driven home as kids are entertained and delighted. Laughter and entertainment are definitely present, but the message is not lost in Joe’s program.

Joe has spoken at children’s camps in nine states, been a part of the International Ventriloquism Dream Team, trained DPS officers in ventriloquism, created animated lotion bottles for television commercials, illustrated a clip art book, and built props for nationally distributed children’s videos. Joe has a background in ministry, and works often in public school systems all around the United States. He feels, however, that his greatest accomplishment is his family. He married his high school sweetheart 17 years ago and has seven wonderful children.

One-time events-Joe Bruce presents the gospel message using several visual forms to help his audience see the message. Joe brings his puppet friends to your church this year for a Nascar style boxcar derby. Joe’s one- time programs include four vent characters, ballooning, some impressions and storytelling, along with Joe’s own artwork. Using the vent characters, Joe works with a storyline that involves conflict resolution. The characters are all part of the storyline. His artwork is incorporated into the program when he draws pictures to illustrate the story. Sometimes he will bring a child up and draw a caricature of the child to use as part of the story. The pictures drawn during the presentation are always given away to audience members.

Camps-Joe is extremely creative and draws on his artistic ability often. He is a GREAT storyteller and can hold the attention of children and adults alike. Joe enjoys teaching Bible verses Rebus style. He draws picture-words on the board and makes sure the kids understand what the verse means and how they can apply it to their lives. He uses huge airbrushed felt Bible stories (his own designs and creations) to further illustrate his stories. A variety of ventriloquist characters take part in his programs as well. In a camp setting, he also plays interactive games with the kids using high-energy music.
