The goal is to help you define and develop your puppet’s personality, looks, mannerisms and uniqueness. Andy will help you discover and fine-tune this alter ego. How to Start and Develop a Puppet Ministry - This workshop is for adults who want to learn about some secrets of building a strong, long-term puppet team ministry. Areas covered include recruiting puppeteers, planning rehearsals, and choosing performance material. Hands on: Puppet Proficiency with the Pros - Spend two hours learning from two of the top professional puppetry performers in the nation. This will be a combination of prescribed puppet drama action, drama improvisation, Cousin Albert style scenarios, and lots of hands-on puppet participation with helpful comments and feedback from Steve Pennington and Andy. Bring your favorite puppet with arm rods. You’ll have fun and learn a ton. Puppet Scriptwriting - We’ll talk about how to create skits, scripts, and memorable quips to more effectively communicate your message to others. Puppet Skit Improvisation - In this hands-on class, members will improvise live dialog to act out various dramatic scenarios using puppets. It’s a fun, entertaining way to develop several puppet skills all at the same time. Bring a puppet if you want. Questions and Answers with Andy and Gerbert - This will be an informal session where you can ask Andy and/or Gerbert any question you wish and learn how Gerbert became a star! Some time will be allotted for picture taking, so bring your cameras. Subtleties in Figure Manipulation - The subtleties in puppetry technique can make all the differences in the believability of your puppet character.
